A sub-base is a type 1 MOT aggregate. It is a crushed limestone aggregate that is very cost-effective and popular due to its simplicity of manufacturing, in contrast to some of the other materials we sell.
Benefits of Type 1 MOT Limestone
MOT generates less particles than other Type 1 aggregates, such as Type 1 Recycled Crushed Concrete and Type 1 Granite, and is a favourite of many engineers. The size of this aggregate might vary. Our Type 1 MOT will be 40mm in diameter and will go all the way down to a fine dust product.
Its ability to be compressed well makes it ideal for usage as a sub-base. It has been utilised as a principal foundation layer material for decades, and you can be confident that our Type 1 MOT complies with the Department of Transportation Specification for Highway Works, Clause 803.
Type 1 MOT Limestone Sizes
Mot Type 1 limestone is available in sizes ranging from 40mm to dust, and is primarily utilised as a bulk fill, levelling material, and sub-base for walkways, ponds, driveways, sheds, patios, and other building projects. After levelling, a weed barrier may be applied, followed by one of our more appealing gravels. MOT Type 1 is porous, which aids drainage, and it won’t wash away easily since it contains bigger stones.
